Magic Motorsport Flex 8.23.0.0 Add Boot Glitch Support for Stellantis Bosch MD1CS003 with Korhex
Magic Motorsport has released Flex software version 8.23.0.0, bringing a new Boot Glitch solution for Stellantis Group Bosch MD1CS003 ECUs. The new procedure uses Korhex together with EMFI (Electromagnetic Fault Injection) technology to work with the TC298 processor.
This update provides a practical alternative to the existing VFI procedure and allows technicians to unlock the ECU and then program it in Bench mode.
Boot Glitch with Korhex
With Flex 8.23.0.0, technicians can perform Boot Glitch operations on Bosch MD1CS003 using Korhex without removing components from the ECU.
Compared with the previously available VFI procedure, the Korhex method can reduce the need for direct component-level work on the control unit. This can make the process more convenient and help reduce the risks associated with removing ECU components.
The general workflow is:
Boot Glitch → ECU Unlock → Bench Programming
The new procedure uses EMFI technology on the TC298 processor to achieve the required Boot Glitch operation.

Supported Vehicles
The Bosch MD1CS003 protocol can be used on various Stellantis vehicles, including:
- DS 7 Crossback (I) – 2021MY, 1.5L BlueHDi 16v 130HP
- FIAT Scudo (III) – 2021MY, 1.5L MultiJet 16v 118HP
- Opel Mokka (B) – 2021MY, 1.5L TDCi 16v 108HP
- Peugeot 5008 (II) – 2021MY, 1.5L BlueHDi 16v 130HP
- Toyota Proace City (I) – 2021MY, 1.5L D4-D 16v 74HP
Vehicle coverage may depend on the specific ECU version and software/protocol support, so technicians should verify the exact ECU before starting the operation.
Korhex F Mask and Positioning Files
To perform the new Boot Glitch procedure, Korhex is used with the appropriate positioning mask. The F Mask can be used for the operation and is available through EOBDTool.co.uk.
In addition, Flex 8.23.0.0 introduces the option to download STL files for dedicated Korhex positioning masks. This gives technicians the option to use the corresponding 3D-printed positioning solution for the Boot Glitch procedure.
License Requirements
The new MD1CS003 Boot Glitch protocol requires either:
- FLS0.20M/S Boot Glitch license, or
- Flex Full FLS0.5M/S configuration
Before attempting the procedure, make sure the required license and Korhex equipment are available.
Other Updates in Flex 8.23.0.0
Besides the new Stellantis Bosch MD1CS003 Boot Glitch support, Flex software version 8.23.0.0 also includes fixes for some writing errors affecting:
- Mercedes Bosch MD1CP001
- MG1CP002
These improvements are intended to enhance the reliability of ECU programming operations.
Conclusion
Flex 8.23.0.0 expands Boot Glitch capabilities by adding support for Stellantis Bosch MD1CS003 TC298 ECUs with Korhex and EMFI technology. The ability to perform the procedure without removing ECU components, followed by Bench programming after unlocking, provides technicians with another workflow for supported vehicles.
For workshops working with Stellantis 1.5L diesel applications, this update adds an important new option for ECU reading, writing, backup, and programming.
