How to Solve Flex SGW Detected and Failed Connection Problem When Reading Hyundai/Kia SIM2K-510 ECU?

Customer Feedback:

Tried to read the 2024 Hyundai Sportage equipped with a Kefico SIM2K-510 ECU using the Flex via OBD.

The Flex software detected the SGW and failed to establish an OBD connection. Bench mode also failed, showing a communication ERROR.

Has anyone encountered this issue or found a working solution?

Solution:

This vehicle uses CAN FD communication, and Flex detects the SGW gateway during the connection process. To read the ECU successfully, you need to connect the CAN FD adapter.

The FLX4.4 adapter is currently available for preorder, with shipping scheduled to begin on November 19, 2026.

Is a CAN FD adapter required for this protocol?
Only for vehicles equipped with a Secure Gateway (SGW).

FYI:

You can read the ECU on the bench using the OBD protocol, but an FL4.4 adapter is required for this operation.
