Found an interesting discussion of reading BMW CAS3+ with Motorola 9s12 eeprom

Tango only need 9s12 eeprom to make and program key

I read it with VVDI

Yes with wires…Eeprom

and when you put in Tango it says encrypted

Yes it says need working key or ISN

i never had that but try to go on Tango forum im sure they found whats the problem

I’ve been told it BMW updating the CAS unit

I just bought Merc clamps to put EIS in do they work

probably it been updated to latest ISTA-P, normaly i programme these with Avdi,not sure about claps for EIS,but i think the best tool is Smok Jtag to read CAS and EIS

Thanks is there any thing to help that better to put wires on bit worried doing this

I have Avdi but if it’s CAS3+ start downgrading it

yes with Avdi BMW on line you can do, but battery charger put when downgrading

Yes i know this my eyes are dodgy so putting wires on a worry

for me personally i use Smok Jtag and never had any problems to read, especially Mercedes EIS its to easy

for older Mercedes EIS its a bit tricky

but in uk probably its very rear older Mercedes

Is VVDI2 worth getting

so do you done that BMW key,key was lost or just spare key, VVDI2 its very good tool, i newer sell even i have Avdi

i have some cases than Avdi failed and VVDI2 done in secs

i seen one on on ebay second hand but full full 1500pnd, that is a very good price;

But i recommend you to have a brand-new one for sake of security, and professional tech support is very important. You can use Google and have a site cardiagtool.co.uk
