Yanhua ACDP2 Clone BMW ZF 6HP TCU “Gearbox Communication Error” Solution

One customer used Yanhua ACDP2 with Module 32 to clone BMW ZF 6HP gearbox TCU, but failed to communicate with TCU. The APP system prompted “Gearbox Communication Error”.

The solution:

1.Verify Gearbox Chip Type:
Use the ACDP to identify the TCU chip type.

  • If the chip is 556, cloning is supported and should proceed normally.
  • If the chip is 555, cloning is not supportedwith ACDP.

2.CAN-R Switch Position:
Ensure the switch on the ACDP main unit is set to the CAN-R

3.Wiring Connections:

  • The Yanhua Module 32 kit includes a blue cable.
  • Connect the blue cable between the gearbox module and the 6HP K-line adapter (see images below).

After completing these steps, attempt to read the gearbox TCU again.
